Product Description
Stainless steel impellers are one of the most commonly used parts in pump and valve equipment and are also a type of vulnerable component that needs to be replaced regularly. We can customize and produce impellers of various sizes and structures according to the customer's drawings. Commonly used impellers are made of stainless steel materials such as 304 stainless steel and 316L stainless steel, meeting the corrosion resistance requirements of parts in the working environment.
Material composition and mechanical property parameters:
Composition table of 304 stainless steel
| Chemical Composition | |||||||||
| Elements | C | Ni | Cr | Mn | Si | P | S | N | Fe |
| Percentage(%) | ≤ 0.08 | 8.0-10.5 | 18.0-20.0 | ≤ 2.0 | ≤ 1.0 | ≤ 0.045 | ≤ 0.03 | ≤ 0.10 | Bal. |
Mechanical properties
Tensile strength (T.S) : ≥520 MPa
Yield strength (Y.S) : ≥205 MPa
Elongation (E.L) : ≥40%
Brinell hardness (HB) : ≤ 187
Composition table of 316L stainless steel
| Chemical Composition | |||||||||
| Elements | C | Ni | Cr | Mo | Mn | Si | P | S | Fe |
| Percentage(%) | ≤ 0.03 | 10-15 | 16-18 | 2-3 | ≤ 2.0 | ≤ 1.0 | ≤ 0.045 | ≤ 0.03 | Bal. |
Tensile strength (T.S) : ≥480 MPa
Yield strength (Y.S) : ≥177 MPa
Elongation (E.L) : ≥40%
Brinell hardness (HB) : ≤ 187
Both 304 and 316L are austenitic stainless steels. The most crucial difference between them lies in whether molybdenum (Mo) is added. Due to the addition of 2-3% molybdenum, 316L far surpasses 304 stainless steel in terms of corrosion resistance, especially in environments containing chloride ions such as seawater.
Production process
The parts are made by the lost-wax precision casting process, which can improve the surface roughness to the greatest extent and ensure the casting accuracy of the parts. After casting, the parts undergo fine processing to meet the precision requirements of the assembly surface. After the parts are processed, dynamic balance tests need to be conducted. This indicator is one of the important indicators for impeller parts.
